    Description

I am proud to offer African 'Bogolanfini' Mud Cloth fabric which was hand woven, hand sewn and hand dyed by the men and women of the Bamana Tribe of Mali. The Bamana people usually grow much of the plants used to craft these Bogolanfini cloths which are hand spun and woven into long strips of fabric which are then sewn together to make up the larger textiles pieces. After the final textile piece is constructed the Bamana people use a process of soaking in a mixture of pounded leaves from native trees and then decorating several times with local mud and local natural bleach and or soda
to create the various tribal inspired designs. This large Mud Cloth textile specimen measures 68 inches long by 43 inches wide. This specimen is in great overall condition with the two ends left in the typical unfinished frayed condition since these pieces are normally used and or processed further for crafting purposes such as constructing clothing items, table cloths, drapes, pillows or wall decor from - these pieces look great stretched and framed and even as throws on couches and chairs. There is really no end to the great items which can be made from these Mud Cloths! Very nice, interesting African textile fabric for any craft person to create with or for home decor. I combine shipping so please be sure to check out my eBay store where I have thousands of items to browse through. Be sure to add me to your
