    Description

Offered for your consideration today is this large and dramatic antique (vintage?) vessel, which appears to be a hollowed out gourd which has been covered with pieces of rawhide/sinew that have been stitched or laced together.  It has been suggested to me that this piece is an example of work by the Tarahumara tribe of Mexico -- a Middle American Indian tribe.  This vessel or jug stands approximately 13" high and measures approximately 8" across at its widest point.  If you are a collector, I think this is a must have piece, and, even if you are not, it would make a striking decorative piece for your home.  Thanks for looking!
