    Aztec Calendar drawing colored with " Popotillo " ( Little Straw Painting ). "Popotillo Art" is a traditional Mexican Folk Art popular in Mexico City during the 1020's , and 30's. Artisans use the stem of a wild grass which they dye using food coloring. The dyed sticks " Popotillo " is then pressed one by one onto a bee wax covered board to create amazing mozaics.
