This is a vintage authentic Kuba Cloth from the Kuba Tribal people of Zaire. It is hand-woven from raffia palm leaves as a tribal endeavor including men and women in the process. Men do most of the growing, harvesting, and weaving. And, women mostly pound the cloth to soften it, design the patterns and patches, and die the cloth with plant dyes. The geometric patterns are symbolic, giving each cloth a unique meaning. They then can be worn by both genders as dancing skirts, funeral attire, etc. They are perfect as a work of art to adorn your home.
