    Description

For your consideration, I have for sale a Rare Roger Von Gunten Etching / Aquatint.  The Etching is limited to 30 pieces and this is number 8 out of 30.  This is a beautiful and rare piece of art.   The original matting was starting to change color due to the acidity of the matting so I had it replaced. Now the Etching has a  new cream colored matting and new glass both installed on 4-22-21.  The etching measures  6.5 length and 4 5/8 inches in height.  The frame measures 11 inches across by 8 inches in height.  The Frame is original and shows wear and has some patina. There is a tag on the back of the frame located in the upper left corner that reads Roger Von Gunten  Paisaje Mexicano ll Agua fuerte Y Aguatina 1961. I believe the translation is "Strong water and aquatint."  Please study photos and let me know if you have any questions. Some photos of the etching were taken without the glass and some photos were taken with the glass. Here is some info on Roger Von Gunten below:
Roger Von Gunten was born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1933. In 1957 he arrived in Mexico City and shortly thereafter, he became a Mexican Citizen. His works give open reality to the viewer through the power of painting. In addition to being colorful, his works are charged with mythology, idyllic eroticism, humor, irony and landscapes. Von Gunten integrated himself into the deconstructionist movement that was being developed; since then and to date he has produced some of more interesting pictorial works of the second half of the twentieth century. He has had innumerable individual and collective exhibitions in Mexico and other countries; he has earned prizes and recognitions, and from 1993, he has been a member of the National System of Creators of Art.
