Soft Vintage stitch dyed Dogon indigo cloth from Mali, West Africa E145

Description

Stunning vintage hand woven and hand stitch dyed indigo cloth from Burkina Faso, West Africa. The cloth would make an excellent scarf, shawl or throw.
The textile has been handwoven in 5" (12.5cm) wide strips which are hand-sewn together to form one large cloth. Traditionally worn as a wrapper, these cloths all unique in shade, size and wear.
The textile is approximately 41" (104cm) wide x 67" (170cm) long with a 1" fringe. It is comprised of two strip woven panels that have been sewn together down the center. It is in a wonderful shade of bright, dark navy indigo and white colored cotton. There are no stains, holes or repairs that I can see and it has been woven from raw, unprocessed cotton. The textile has been worn extremely soft - it almost feels like cashmere. It is in very good vintage condition and is a really special, one-of-a-kind piece.
I recommend had washing separately in cold water with mild soap. It has already been washed and ironed and can be used immediately.
