    Description

2 Vintage Tlaquepaque Padura Art Figures 1920 to 1930's.  One leg looks like it was glued but does not deter from the quality of this image.  Did much research but could not find prices except for 3 figures that sold on Ebay for 245 dollars and Etsy 165 dollars. about 4.5 inches in height.
These items have an interesting history which I have received from a number of people who know about Mexican art and folk art.  They are made by the villagers who add these figures to the nativity scene or Nacimiento representing the people of the village or the world in miniature. Many were made from original molds back to the 30's or 40's. Artist name if Pandero, Tlequepaque. He made them to depict every day life.  They were painted with acrylic and coated with egg white to give them a shine.  On the old lady you can see this shine on her bag which is carry bread.
