    Description

Vintage, handwoven cotton and indigo stitch dyed African fabric, made by the Dogon in Mali. This piece is made of 5 indigo strips sewn together and dyed with a “V”/“butterfly traditional linear pattern said to represent Dogon ladders, and few areas with circle stitch designs.
    42" x 58"; Textile
is medium weight, and is very soft from age, wear and washing. Very good condition: some seam repair and loosening at one end; ends are not hemmed; tears at one end  and one side; one repaired hole at a  seam repair; a few, small holes/loosening of fabric. But two different strip patterns make it a nice piece for sewing projects.
I was lucky to have first choice of many
large shipments of indigos as they arrived directly from African and have picked the the ones that are the most unique and in the best condition to sell. Keep watching my store as I continue to make my large “stash” available to buyers around the world!
