Vintage Indigo Resist Dyed Textile/Hand Woven Cotton Strips/Burkina Faso/48”x65"

Description

Vintage handwoven cotton and dyed African indigo fabric, made in Burkina Faso. Textiles are dyed with the resist, stitch dyeing technique and each piece of indigo is unique. This one has a great pattern of lines and dots arranged in a nice overall abstract design with triangle and rectangle shapes.
48” x 65”, 5 medium weight strips; tied fringe on one end and hand hemmed at the other end.
Excellent condition: One hole at the bottom of the hemmed side but I see no other major damage, holes, or seam openings.
I was lucky to have “first choice” of several large containers of indigos, as they arrived directly from Africa, and have many that I will be selling. I picked ones that were in the best condition, and/or the most unique, but there are almost always a few flaws, which I will note in my listings and photographs. Textiles  have been washed before listing, and will not discharge any blue dye anymore.
